September ACT-POST your Predictions and Thoughts!

<p>hotsauce- i didnt use many examples and i got a 6 on my last essay… they said i needed more examples</p>

<p>I felt really good about this one in contrast to my last.
English: Nothing even remotely debatable. If I didn’t get a perfect score I’ll be disappointed 34-36
Math: Actually somewhat of a curveball, with a few questions with downright confusing wording and some obscure concepts I couldn’t remember. Maybe I should’ve studied during the summer; I know i missed at least two. 32-34
Reading: About the same as the June test. Some more confusing passages [and far too many acronyms] but like the English test, everything was in the text, nothing was debatable. Myself, I’ve been looking over the threads for this test and I haven’t found anything wrong on my part. Hopefully perfect. 34-36
Science: The strangest test by far; a few of the sections [imo] definitely required outside learning [Physics+Biology] and some of the passages/experiments were incomprehensible upon first read. I actually finished this time though; I feel that I may surprise myself, but after my score on science back in june and the ridiculous curve this section is famous for, I don’t know what to expect. 30-36
Essay: Haha. I’m notoriously late to my classes so I didn’t know what to say. Personally, I don’t see how we could have many examples unless we applied the philosophy we chose to write about to other concepts; I hope the ACT is lenient on this grading. I barely started my conclusion too. I feel I could get anywhere from a 6 to a 12.</p>

<p>Good luck to everyone else who took it; it’s looking like science and math will have significant curves if everyone found them difficult.</p>

<p>so a lot of people are using this hack…</p>

<p>1 is it legal and would act ever find out if we used it
2 how does it work</p>

<p>@BobbyT12: It is legal. ACT has posted all of our scores on the web by next Friday (typically), however, they have not provided a link for us yet. We just take advantage of the fact that web addresses usually have some rhyme or reason to why they have the address they have. So what we do is take what all addresses to ACT scores have in common (“<a href=“https://services.actstudent.org/OA_HTML/actibeCAcdSecCk.jsp?regId=“”&gt;https://services.actstudent.org/OA_HTML/actibeCAcdSecCk.jsp?regId="&lt;/a&gt;) and we have found what sets individual addresses apart (”…regId=xxxxxxx”).</p>

<p>“xxxxxxx” is your seven digit test ID. Once you find your test ID (by hovering over the “Make Changes to your Registration” link and seeing “javascript:updatereg(‘xxxxxxx’)” at the bottom of your browser), you know exactly what the web address of your test scores is.</p>

<p>This is not illegal because ACT has publicly posted these scores on the internet and has made no effort to conceal them. If we some how found a way to access their database that they had not posted on the web, that would be illegal. However, saying what we are doing is illegal is like saying it was illegal if someone kept a journal on a web address that did not exist as a link anywhere, and someone randomly typed in the address and found it.</p>

<p>I suppose it would be possible to know that people were using this hack and I suppose you could also figure out whether or not the computer used to register for the test was the same computer to utilize the hack, but it’s not like they would want to do anything serious about it anyways. The most ACT would do is not make the test scores public before the official release anymore.</p>

<p>English-Was alright, too much distractions at beginning of my test to be optimistic though :S 26-29
Math-Was extremely difficult. Usually my strong point, but I think I bombed it…I never bombed math tests/problems before… 29-31
Reading-Alright, not too bad. 27-29
Science-Not too bad either. 27-30</p>

<p>I picked C for letter of the day…I’m depending on it to raise my composite lol, can anyone help confirm if C was a majority lol.</p>

<p>ENG/MATH: The best parts of the test…32~35 on each
READING: PIANO passage got about 2~3 Q’s + HOT got about 3 more q’s…28
Science: Chem *<strong><em>ed me. Last passaged *</em></strong>ed me. Tree questions ****ed me…26~28</p>

<p>Reading: Super easy, not even quite sure I missed any (33-36)
Engligh: Lots of question about commasm lol (30-33)
Math: Kind of a *****, no time for last 5 or so (28-30)
Science: Easy, but pretty time consuming. Agree? (26-28)</p>

<p>I need a 30+, might get there</p>
