September ACT Reading Discussion

Bummer. I think the ACT testmakers are trying to make it harder for people to use the PR’s strategy of searching for key words after reading the questions.

For the Synesthesia one I said a girl smells lemons when it winds or something, but I’m not sure if that’s right. Anyone else?

I put that too azn. However, I am not sure.

^That’s what I put too.

How do lemons and winds relate?

Because she felt the wind but smelt the lemons; two different senses, just like the people at the beginning of the passage.

why isn’t it see green or something when she sees letters?

Exactly. @ syndekit Lemons and wind DONT relat, making it right.

What did you guys put for why the pop up test with distinct lines were mentioned in the passage?

I was debating between “to suggest that test is used first before the color one” And to “illustrate a test that synesthias and non-synesthesias both pass.” I went with the second one.

@ cortana yup that’s what I put 2

what was the pop up test?

The answer to the lobe question was temporal, and the lemons answer was correct, but funny. I snickered.

The pop-up test was something the nonsynesthetes can distiguinsh but synesthetes can’t, I believe.

@Chickenfriedrice

Was the temporal lobe choice a or d?

D

pop-up test was the shape thing

I remember circling temporal lobe for some reason. But that was simply because I thought temporal was mentioned first. Does anyone remember whether the frontal or temporal lobe came first? It was like X lobe and X lobe.

It was temporal lobe. I referenced the passage.

so in that once sentence, it was “blah blah blah temporal lobe and frontal lobe?”

I’m not sure but I remember temporal lobe being correct. Can’t elaborate any further.

it mentioned both the parietal and temporal lobes. the only reason i marked temporal was because they immediately went on to talk about it more

darn it. if the sentence was “x lobe and y lobe.” Does anyone remember whether the word temporal would have been x or y? i remember it being the first one, but I’m not sure.
