LOL, looking at National Geographic as a young kid cured me of ever wanting to go braless or without support for extended periods of time.I remember thinking OMG is that what happens? Personally I don’t care if some women want to go around topless and my boys saw it in their early teen years in Miami and had a few giggles. But until the day comes when women stop puffing the girls up with saline or whatever chemicals they are using today, buying push up and padded bras to make the girls look different than they really are and in essence sexualizing their own body parts, I can’t support toplessness for women.
There are nude cruises every year and two to three thousand people, mainly American, sign up for them. If you ask me how I know, I will plead the fifth. 
But I can tell you they’re really fun, no monkey business is allowed, and it takes care of any body image issues you have. People are friendlier than on typical cruises, and there are NO KIDS! And you realize how silly Americans are for their hangups about nudity.
It reminds me of the Iranian woman journalist who had it drilled into her from a young age that if women dared to bare their ankles in public, society would come to a screeching halt because the men wouldn’t be able to control themselves. She eventually managed to escape to Holland, and she was SHOCKED at how well society ran, much smoother than in Iran. Men seemed to manage themselves just fine. It’s the same with nudity. It takes about five minutes and you wonder what the heck the big deal was.

Not sure I get this, @momofthreeboys. Plenty of women don’t do these things so their freedoms should be impinged on because?

Nudity sounds cold to me. I like being warm so I don’t get itchy hives. I guess if you have a more ribust constitution it could work.
Yeah, apparently the cruise to Alaska didn’t go so well. Most of the cruises are in the Caribbean. Plenty warm.
I’m in Santorini now. I just had a wonderful time today on a katamaran, in the afternoon with my wife, culminating in fabulous sunset with the sugar cube houses punctuating on the cliffs… We were close to the oldest folks onboard. No nudity on the boat, of course. But the attitudes of the younger couples towards us (and other older folks) showing skin was amusing. Interesting because the youngsters were definitely in far less good shape. Why would they care? I wouldn’t have, at their age.
It’s going to be 112 here tomorrow, climbing to 120 later in the week. I’m naked under my clothes. That’s as far as I’ll go, but I don’t care at all what anyone else decides to do.
Wow–112-118! Those are HOT temps! I actually don’t understand foregoing clothing. It seems you would not have protection from all sorts of things and can get UV exposure in sensitive areas. Clothing provides important protection against heat and cold, sun and rain, etc, imho.
@ChoatieMom, You must be near me. Prediction is 119 for Monday and 120 for Tuesday. I think I will get some topless sun for about 20 minutes each day.
Not to change the topic, but we’re heading to Santorini among other places in Greece. How do you like it and where are you staying?
We seem to be as Americans from the USA obsessed with woman’s tits and butts. I recall a time when having a Massive Kardasian, etc… butt was considered being fat. Who knew that nipples filled to capacity could be considered the erotic prohibition. We are puritanical hypocrites in this country. I have to add, it’s perfectly fine for an obese man, with breasts larger then mine, to stroll the beach uncovered. His stomach is obscene.
Yeah, don’t want to hijack the thread but we are staying in Fira; we have had a fantastic time. Off to Mykonos today… I’ve traveled a lot – seen many countries and places in my lifetime. I’ve gotta say that Santorini is visually the best of all… We are staying in Fira, at a small hotel on the caldera, with amazing views. So much to see and do here.

I remember peeking at a nude beach in Maui one time (Little Makena Beach). I expected to see the Swedish Bikini team frolicking in the sand … but instead saw the Russian Walrus club there. Yow, not good!
We were on a Caribbean cruise and did an excursion to Tintamarre in Saint Maarten back when we were young and childless. I mentioned to DW that this was a nude beach and she enjoyed it (she’s the type that should be on a topless beach). The excursion was ruined by a “nude” boat that arrived (like one of those “pirate” boats). One of the deckhand’s nickname had to have been “Tripod”. I couldn’t even claim the water was cold for my inadequacy! DW kindly said, “ewww, gross!”.

The fact is- some bodies are much more attractive than others and if you are not part of a nudist culture it just is not that pleasing to be around unclothed bodies.
Even if I had the body of a 20 year old beauty queen, the thought of those body parts being sunburnt is enough to make me shudder. A sunburn on my face or shoulders can be bad enough, but that skin has never seen the sun! Ouch!!!
So the nude cruises, are people sitting round nude on the furniture? It sounds unhygienic (God, I’m getting old)
