<p>I lived near this area until recently. It’s not any worse than Cincinnati, Louisville, Knoxville or any other campus close to a decent size city.
Of course you should be worried (especially if you’re a mom as your name implies). But this happened at midnight–tell your student to walk in large groups after dark. And remember this was not a ‘campus shooting’ but a more typical robbery type.</p>
