<p>I usually shop local anyway. Local grocery chains, local hardware stores& garden shops. Then I don’t feel so guilty when I go to Fred Meyer for a prescription or buy something that was made in China! :o</p>

<p>Although our family does not meet their suggested goal (3 local businesses, $50/month spent at each), we have been making an effort to avoid chains where possible. That seems easiest for us to do with restaurants. And a local wine store with personalized advise and most bottles in $10-$15 range.</p>
