<p>Chemical engineers that actually work in plants need the circuits and optics taught in Physics II. I am familiar with that environment. Yes, the material is reprised in subsequent introductory courses in EE ,control and instrumentation, and analytical chemistry. Do you want to go into these higher level , albeit introductory, courses cold?</p>
<p>When your employer’s plant is not running, not producing quality, or not “up to speed” ( stream factor, yield, throughput) your boss is going to want you to direct efforts to fix things. It doesn’t matter whether the problem is electrical in nature, involves heat transfer problems, or is the result of a stoichiometric imbalance. You have to know or be able to ask for appropriate help.</p>
