Nothing is free in life you pay one way or another either through the form of taxation, paycheck or your checking account. And when it is free (so to speak) there are limits as there are finite resources to pay even for the government. This means there are caps as to who does not have to pay and/or slots all the while increasing taxes that someone has to pay and/or cutting spending somewhere else that special interest groups will fight. While the word free makes it sound enticing, we already have the federal government spending way more than they take in. The only way to reduce college costs is to literally cut costs such as the fitness centers, living on campus, security, administration, advertising and the like.
