<p>I think that they were posting their stats just for an opinion from a community that is somewhat familiar with ND, not because they believe everyone works for admissions. Some kids have a budget and can only apply to a limited number of schools because of the cost. If this is the case, posting stats to see if you may or may not be qualified does help them as it can narrow down where they will apply. While I agree that you cannot solidify an answer regarding someones admission fate and that you will have to simply apply and see what happens- getting a few opinions can be beneficial.
