Should I be worried about rejection?

Any new acceptances or rejections? Looks like we may be waiting until the new year!

Worried? We often can’t control feeling worried. I do suggest making sure you have other applications completed at schools that are sure to accept you and affordable, if you have not yet done so.

Anyone from this thread still waiting?

@drjdillon – Yup, my son is still waiting. Although, at this point, I feel like he’s pretty much moved on after receiving some good EA offers earlier this month. Are you still waiting too?

Yes my son is still waiting as well. He received other good offers too, so I’m kind of hoping he will do the same. Would just like to hear so we can make decisions. I know they have until the end of January, but was hoping they would make decisions earlier.

@drjdillon – I was definitely hoping for an earlier decision too. The entire U of MN process has been a little strange for us, to be honest. My S has not received a single communication (marketing or otherwise) from the U of MN since 10/21 (when he received an email stating his application was complete). Every other school on which he is still waiting has at least sent marketing emails (Apply for Scholarships! Seasons Greetings! We’re coming to your town! etc.) And the emails he received from the U of MN immediately after applying were not very warm and fuzzy – all business with very little “we’re so happy you applied.”

I kind of think they’ve already rejected my son, but for whatever reason are not posting that information to his portal?? His stats are pretty good, but he failed to include the optional essay with his initial submission… When he realized his mistake, he sent an email to his AO with the essay attached but (of course) received no reply.

Still waiting, too. I guess it’s good to know we should all know something within the next 30 days, but the longer we wait, the less hopeful we are.

@drjdillon DS still waiting here in NY. Applied 10/22, would like to have some closure at this point, especially given that it was EA.

Agreed. My son applied 10/6. He might not have quite the stats for his first choice, but he certainly should for his second choice. When my older son applied to two other Big Ten colleges the first one admitted him in November. Second one waited until the end of January and admitted everyone at once. Well by the time the second one admitted him the first had sent him so much stuff and had him so excited about going there that there was no way he was going to the second one. I know these colleges get tons of applications, but they have to realize that the longer the wait the more likely kids are to get excited about another school.

Just read on the Admissions Office Twitter account that they extended the regular decision deadline to January 15. Not sure if that means anything, just interesting!

I mean the regular decision application deadline that is!
