Should I disregard the email my community college sent me about filing for financial aid for 2022/2023?

It doesn’t do any harm to apply for FAFSA for 2022-23. You can have it sent to your CC and if you don’t graduate in Spring 22, it will be ready to go for the 1-2 courses you need to complete at the community college …or…if you do decide to go right to the next university in fall or spring (23), you can go into your FAFSA and have it sent to the colleges you are applying to. That is very easy to do.

If you don’t go to college right away, no harm. It doesn’t cost anything to file the FAFSA and if you don’t sent it to any other colleges, it just sits there.

Fill out the FAFSA at the best time for you financially and when you have the time. If you just sold a house and have a lot of money in your bank, wait. If you have low assets now and have time and past tax info now, do it now.
