Not sure if this helps since my son did not take the SAT. That being said, he took the ACT 3 times, the last time without the writing section (essay). In his UF portal it says that last score is not considered because it doesn’t have the essay.
Unfortunately that was the test where he got a 36 on the English sub-section. Sigh. His essay score is not the greatest, and that high English would have boosted it some.
You might want to email UF and ask your question - they are usually pretty helpful. I’m just thinking that UF wants the writing component but I cannot say for sure. This is my amateur mom opinion.
