<p>ace550, somemom has explained it better than I could. Poor California kids! That kid got into one medical school, but it was UCLA. Not shabby at all. But if that school rejected her, she would get into none. Scary! DS heard about her story just recently (He did not know her personally.) It did have a psycological effect on him. He would never fall in love with any school until that school admits him. It will be hard for him to write those “why them” secondaries if he “defends his sanity” in this way. He actually once said many applicants were on the borderline of lying on these essays (Is that person really like what he described himself in his essay?), it is just they were not caught. He likely hates the process even though it is just the beginning of the process for him. It will be a long year.</p>
<p>Almost everybody I know got into one and exactly one of the UC schools. It is enough to make me suspect a conspiracy.</p>
