OP: So you never called the police about this??

Something similar happened when my S was a toddler, he was playing with the phone, and somehow dialed 9/11 (I think in my town, if you continuously hang it up/let it come on it will connect you), then the operator heard our S crying because we noticed what he was doing and took the phone from him…ended up getting a visit from the cops, they checked that our S was okay…but learned our lesson!

We’ve had that happen to us a couple of times with S. Once in Scotland - called the Scotland Yard
Once at home - he ended up dialing 911 - when the cops came home to check, he was hiding upstairs and was too scared to come down. We had to convince him the cops were not angry with him :)

I did talk to the detective who said they would patrol more in our neighborhood, but all the activity stopped about that time, presumably on its own.

A few weeks ago, a car pulled up, a guy got out, opened the trunk and took out a wooden box that looked like a planter about 3 feet long and 1 foot wide. He set it on its end right behind his car, then the granddaughter got in and they drove off. The box was painted gray and so blended with the pavement. Although it wasn’t in the middle of the street, passing cars were slowing suddenly when they got close to it and did have to move over a little to avoid it. I called 911 then (happened to be home at lunch) to report a road hazard. Thirty minutes later, a cop drives by and instructs the other granddaughter who had come outside to move it out of the road. She placed it in their yard at the curb where there had been other “trash” placed. When I got home from work, the whole pile was gone and it wasn’t trash pickup day. Perfectly innocent, I’m sure, but still weird.

Thinking that perhaps he was attempting to “save” his parking space? All in all they sound like very odd people!

Thank you for posting, musicmom. I’ve been thinking about you and wondering how it was going. I am glad they seem to be gone.

Keeping fingers crossed for your continued peace and quiet!
