Should I withdraw my application?

For the class admitted on the most recent Duke CDS that I can find, 1,162 of their admits, or 40%, attended another college. In addition, they admitted 88 kids from the waitlist.

You are definitely not taking a spot away from anyone else if you are accepted and choose not to attend!

Agree with others.

It’s not actually that impressive to have something named after yourself. For a few thousand bucks, you can have an insect or a parasite or a star named after you. You can even become a lord or lady if you like. I once bought my hubby a lordship or a baronetcy or something. Sadly, I can’t remember what his title is. Luckily, I can buy him another one for the bargain price of $49. Then he can be a double lord! Lordship Titles, Create your own lord or lady title, name a title, Instantly buy a Lord or Lady title for England or Scotland.

And a bit immodest as well IMHO…

That’s such a great list, and shows you’ve really done this right. I’d leave the app open at Duke. As noted above, if you get accepted and turn it down it’s not like there will be an empty bed there next fall. They’ll fill it.

Think about it. You’ve been accepted to a lot of great schools. You’re going to tell all of them no, except one. So Duke wouldn’t be any different.

Nice work.

This is actually true (well, it’s not a planet, but it is a tracked orbital object). All the kids who win top science prizes get this.

Definitely hang in there. You have a bright future.

There’s always someone who invented the question mark…or discovered a planet
