I want to change schools because I’m not being challenged at school. Only one or two of my classes are difficult. I’m also unable to take many courses related to my interests, which would be offered at CATS or any other private schools I may discover. CATS has fewer students per class, so I would be forced to express my ideas. If I don’t transfer I might never overcome my timidity or be able to take courses interesting to me. I could always take a similar route and return to my current high school if I didn’t find private school beneficial.
Parents said 5-day boarding is “dangerous”… Thank you for the insight!
You might want to explore some of the enrichment programs in the area for high school students. You’d be around other motivated students and be challenged. It’s been a while, but I know a student who really liked the robotics program at MIT.
You could explore this in tandem with looking at schools, and perhaps start this year.
I’m familiar with the MIT robotics program, I did it when I was younger! I haven’t considered returning, that sounds like a good idea. I will look into other enrichment programs.
Thanks
Your 75% SSAT from last year wasn’t necessarily “harmful”. It maybe a little soft for some of the “top schools” often mentioned here, but I think it’s good enough for many schools in the Boston area, including Thayer. If you study for 3-4 weeks, you probably can bump it up to the 80’s%.
I assume you are a girl, so a couple of other schools that may work for your commute are Windsor and Dana Hall.
