I’m glad you found some options, romanigypsyeyes! As others noted, Zappos returns are super easy. You just log in, look at recent purchases, check items you want to return, print out a return label and tape it on the original shipping box. You do have to take the box to a UPS store or UPS shipping site. Our UPS driver will also take them if I happen to see him.
Not only is Zappos easy for returns, they email as soon as they receive the shoes back, and the credit shows up on your credit card promptly! I have been looking for new walking shoes and have ordered (and returned) 7 pairs so far 
I have a short foot with a wide forefoot and high arch, making shoe buying one of my least favorite activities. With Zappos, I just order and return, then repeat until I find the much needed shoe that fits. If they shoe comes in other colors, I order those also!
Unknown to most is that Amazon has a fabulous shoe section.
I recently purchased shoes for my D’s wedding from them.
Very entertaining is to put “highest price to lowest”
They carry $1500 shoes!
I adore Zappos but now equally use Amazon for shoes.

Retail has changed. Now things are changing that anything not in a narrow range is only carried on line.
I hear this all the time, I want to go to a store and look at it and try it on.
Most department stores have stopped carrying petites or the selection is even more limited than the small choices they had before.
I did have a minor problem with Zappos – they emailed me that they received my return but the credit didn’t show up in a reasonable amount of time. I called their customer service number and the nice lady took care of it immediately.
I love Zappos.
When I order from Zappos, I typically order 6-8 pairs at a time. Returns are easy and their customer service is good. Read the reviews on the shoes to see what other customers think, especially about sizing and comfort.
Just a side note that whenever I find a pair of shoes on Zappos or 6pm I also double check the same shoe on Amazon - they often have the same one cheaper - and with free shipping if you have Prime AND often free returns.
How about a pair of black booties that you can easily wear socks with and would work for winter too??

Thank you all. I got a pair at easy spirit this morning before heading to school but I’m not sure if I like them. They were on sale though so it’s not a huge deal if I don’t. I’ll wear them until my zappos come in 
I had my hair styled today and the next client had on a pair of Rothy’s. I asked her about them and she asked my size and insisted I try them on. Oh so cute! I will rock Dansko professional clogs with almost every outfit, but there will be a pair of Rothy’s in my closet very soon.

Well since this thread’s back up- I’ll add this.
I don’t understand shoe sizes apparently. Not as single size 11 shoe fit me at DSW. Then when I went to Easy Spirit, an 11 was a bit too big. It actually works right now because I’ve been wearing thick compression socks.
So I guess I should order 10.5s from zappos. I just don’t understand!!! :((
(I normally buy “men’s” shoes so this process has been frustrating)
Women’s shoe sizes are as consistent as women’s clothing sizes, which is not at all. In shoes I wear own everything from 8 to 10. I find that in athletic/hiking shoes and boots I take smaller sizes, and in fashion styles and heels I wear bigger sizes if they fit me at all.

I always order every pair of shoes in two sizes from Zappos. I order 3-8 pair at a time. They are typically returned at the local UPS within hours. I am guessing out of every 30 pairs I keep one.
Now doing the same from Amazon.
I detest going to shoe stores with salespeople. They bring me a few pairs and when they do not fit they
are done with me.
Reviews on Zappos will give you an indication of whether customers found that the shoes ran big, small, or true to size. When I’m not sure, I’ll usually order 2 different sizes of the same shoe.
If you’re willing to forgo socks, try Rothys. I have always had a difficult time finding truly comfortable flats, especially in the summer when I don’t want to wear socks, and I have fallen in love with that brand. I bought one pair to try, and now I have three!
I absolutely LOVE Zappos. I have found the reviews to be unusually helpful in making a selection.
Recently, I was looking for walking/hiking trail shoes, and the reviews were so helpful in selecting the size for each brand I ordered. I tried a few on at home and made a quick decision. Kept one pair, returned the others. Soooo easy.
I never want to get in the car and drive from store to store to store again in search of shoes. Sorry brick and mortar stores!
I hate shoes. All shoes. If I could I would live in decent flip flops. That said, at $104 I thought the price of these shoes was out of control. Until I bought them (because, and only because, Zappos has free returns). For a shoe hater like me, who doesn’t like to feel confined (my biggest gripe with shoes!) these were amazing. I wear my black ones every day at work. I’m saving up to buy a fun color (I still find the price out of control).
