Signing up for Orientation @ UCLA

Are people even allowed to trade orientation dates? I think if you want to switch you have to call that # that they give you. Has anyone even attempted to do this yet? If so, let me know. I too would like to upgrade. lol :)

woot! got mine switched to july 17th!

wow dbguy
how did u do that?
congratulations tho

called in and see if theres any openings left.

wow…they actually let you switch? Interesting. I’m gonna have to call now and see if I can be greedy and get mine switched to July 3rd. ;)

i called in to see if mine can get switched to july 11th, with my whole summer school debacle going on.

they have a file on me and apparently i have a legit excuse. they said they’ll get back to me next week!!! crazy!

and i just sent in my final transcripts!!!

I NEVER HAVE TO GO BACK TO PIERCE COLLEGE AGAIN!! ironically, i work right next to it, so i’ll be going back to the general vicinity. but never again do i have to park in their lots of walk through their sidewalks!

Does anyone know if the enrollment appointments for UCLA apply to transfer students?

^if you’re attending orientation, your enrollment appointment is at your orientation

xleper…maybe it’s the way you worded it, but it sounds super creepy that they “have a file on you.” lol It makes you sound like a criminal with your own special file on campus or something. ;)

btw, I suggest that everyone have a pretty good idea of what classes you need to take before you go to orientation because I have heard complaints from former students that they kinda rush you and that you receive very little instruction as far as what classes to choose. This might not be the case for everyone, but be prepared just in case. :)

i already used the class planner and picked out my schedule, my HOPEFUL schedule.

lol, and yes, it does sound creepy but those are their words! “Did she make a file on you? Oh yes, here it is.”

i want to switch from orientation 202 to orientation 201 or 203. if anyone wants orientation 202 and wants to switch, maybe she/he and i could go in person to the orientation office and get our orientation times switched. pm me if interested. thanks!

nvm…i got it changed.

Do you guys know if the schedule of classes for fall is out already? B/c I pretty much already know what classes I need to take, but have yet to make a schedule because I was under the impression that it was not out yet.

i saw the schedule of classes. go check class planner on myUCLA.

speaking of orientation, i got mine changed to 202! from July 28th to July 11th!

Oh really? I’m happy for ya b/c now you don’t have to go to orientation late, right? I’m gonna try and get mine changed from 203 to 201…hopefully. ;)

Yeah, I just checked it and the classes for fall 2008 are listed now. I guess I hadn’t checked it for awhile and just assumed it was still not up. thx.

Dude, one of the classes I was planning on taking in the fall has lecture MWF PLUS a discussion on Friday. Wth? That seriously blows.

oh ewww. none my classes have discussions, oddly enough. i’m sure they’ll add it on later.

my asian american studies class over summer is supposed to have one, but nothing is listed.

Two of the classes I was planning on taking have discussions. It’s not so much the discussions that bother me but the MWF schedule. And that is literally the only time they offer that class. ugh…whatev. Plus all the other classes I wanted are TTh which means I will have to be on campus everyday! yuck!

I think I might look into summer session C and see if they offer that class so I can knock it out and avoid a bad first quarter.

So you can only sign up for classes at orientation? No wonder everyone wants the earlier orientation dates then…

So here’s my problem…getting to orientation at UCLA…

I live in NorCal and my orientation date is July 11th. Going down, I could fly, but I’d have to fly down the night before…I guess I’d just need to find a place to stay (is it possible for ucla to provide any sort of accomodations??) and that works out to be pretty expensive… and if I do stay at a hotel, then I need to find out a way to get TO the campus and then getting back… not to mention, transportation to/from the airport.

Also, my family will be in Los Angeles on the weekend of the 26th of July for a wedding, so I can see if I can get my orientation date switched to the 28th…I could stay with my cousin who lives in Woodland Hills (I think that’s it???) but then I’m not sure how I could get to UCLA from there…

Could anyone who knows the area or anything like that offer advice? Thanks
