Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

But in return you have to have Smooth in your classroom for a couple of years–or in your House. Trust me–those teachers deserve every minute of special treatment after putting up with Smooth… Today is the last day of school…

sybbie719 - Why not? We can all have big hair, and wear sparkly clothes…we’ll need a really magestic set of stairs to practice swooshing…I’m thinking of building a free standing one in the back yard, I’ve got lots of sticks do you have a spare glue gun?

Then BHappyMom I could be your dutiful daughter, swearing away, and I would make sure you always had vodka and kahlua on hand.

Just think, if cc’ers were your parents, they would love you beyond life, they would sacrifice their needs for yours, they would give you all the benefit of their great wisdom. Not so bad.

^^And to think, I did all of that BEFORE I even found CC! ;)

No, but I have Second Life, in which you can easily have big hair, sparkly clothes, and stairs to swoosh on. Not to mention poles to dance around, if that’s your thing (ahem).

It’s sort of like SA Done Large, but without as much wit and intelligence and humor. OK I take it back, then, it’s not that much like SA. ;)

Alu - that’s sweet about the vodka & kahlua, but “DUTY”, nah, wash your mouth out with gin and tonic girl  … just grab hold of the “FUN” bar and hold on for life!! :)

Mootmom - welcome home! We few, we band of Sinners, may have to send a rescue team into this Second Life Land, it seems like a black star revolving around SA sucking out patrons left, right, and center!

p2n-
that jacobsbrake thing-- is that a pic of your RV?

Well, I don’t mean to brag - but my RV looks like this: [p2n RV](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Hillbillies1.jpg)

Nice land yacht, p2n. I can’t compete. However, soon I will be ridin’ along on…

Amateurs.

jmmom-
May 0f 2000 that photo was taken? Where ya keepin’ that thing? In the geeerage???

OK. I take it back. I no longer want you to be my parents. You will be out buffing the yacht whilst I am having some teen trauma or other…

You girls make me laugh! :)

Girls? I haven’t been called a “girl” since I was a kid. I think the PC term would be “ladies”.

Jmmom,

That would be Mars, PA! North of Pittsburgh. Up the road from me about 30 clicks.

And I thought the correct term for SA women was …“Babes”

Babes-- now thats more like it! How 'bout “ladies” during daylight hours, and “babes” once the bar opens? :)

If you really want to go PC, you could use “womyn” or “people of the female gender.” ;)

In here, we’re all babes! woo-hoo!

Right, sistahs?

In related semantics, I sometimes get annoyed by the fact that “guys” has become the default term for “people” or “everyone.” In any random group, generally half of us are female. But not wanting to be “girls” or “ladies”, the entire group becomes “guys.”

There just doesn’t seem to be a better word in English, however. I guess “people” works. OK people, listen up! Next round is on me! :D

I kid you not… A certain male of the species well-known to me, along with all of his male cohorts, used to employ the following terminology to refer to women in the office context- “dolly.” As in, “I need to go ask the dolly in Personnel about my travel voucher from last month.”

This lasted about a nano-second after I came into the picture.

jmmom-
That’s just nauseating! Hope that terminology is only used in the most endearing way if the “male of the species well-known to me” uses it at home. Isn’t “dolly” the name of the cloned sheep? :D

Calling us “girls” is like calling guys “boys”, only tackier.

Mommusic-
You are right-- generic term for collective “we” or “us” has become “guys” or “people” or “everyone”. Funny, I don’t know why, but “guys” doesn’t bother me. Guess its just become part of the vernacular.

P2N-
Looks like you deleted your post-- but we all got it in our inboxes anyway :)

Berurah-
I like your spelling of “Womyn”. Was that intentional???
