Adults are so smart! That sounds perfect, especially the clue about wanting to go out again. Thanks!

Glad to help, corranged! And thanks for being up so late to post this. As you can see, I am up chaperoning an all note after-prom party. And I suspect everyone else who usually hangs out in SA is asleep. You can hear an echo in here :)

Oh my. I just did a quick read of your thread… That’s certainly a terrifying job!

It does make me wonder, though, what are you going to be doing with all that alcohol? ;)

Anyone have a good recipe for Rum cake?? I have enough to make a LOT of cakes.

mootie-the Zoot Tux is awesome!

Snoring? No, I’m awake. Really!!

Cor…,

I agree with offer but don’t insist approach. Hope things out.

Amazing how smart jym can be at 2:00 in the morning after exposure to fumes from a bucket-load of rum. I second her dating advice, corranged. And I’ve had several hours of sleep, so it must be right.

Okay, that makes it a three-peat. corranged should be all set.

Gee go to bed early and look at all I miss.

RUM! Hilarious!! The ONLY form of booze I would never drink straight!

A 4th on jym’s sterling advice. And, corranged, now that you’ve breached the alley-- you have to come back and report how it turns out.

mootie, TSFH has style!

A little noticed milestone…Mr. Weenie posted his FIRST post this morning…LOL…But I don’t think he’ll be presenting his man card any time soon though…

:D

Oh Weenie…I’m so sorry for you. That big sucking noise is CC, striking out, and choosing another victim to spread its addictive aura over. (Astrodad is ready for ebay-anonymous…, I, of course, will be leading the CC-anonymous sessions in this neck of the woods).

Screen-name please? Inquiring minds want to know.

You can start a special cybercouples group. I know at least one matched set. There must be others.

weenie-
Give us a hint-- what thread is it in???

well the nor’easter is slamming into the East Coast and when I ran out to get the papers this morning – I swear all that rain tasted like rum. Clever solution, jym! Are they up yet?

Speaking of sucking noises; our shopvac is sucking water off the floor in our basement; this hasn’t happened since Floyd in 1999. Lucky for us, I was awake and down in the basement when the water came in, otherwise it could have been a lot worse.

Hi ivoryk-
Sorry you are getting the *lovely storm that we had yesterday. I guess maybe here it is a southeaster???

I woke up at 8 when DH opened the front door to get the paper (the door “dings” from the alarm)-- I rolled out of bed around 8:45, and one or two were stirring then. One who had been very good friends with that kid who died Thursday was pretty upset and couldn’t sleep. We talked for a long time, and I encouraged him to write out for the parents all the incredible things he was saying about his memories of his friend, and to include some of the funny stories he shared. Wen I awoke this morning, a very compelling letter was on the computer. He left a copy for me to read/keep. I think he felt better, and I know his letter to the boy’s parents will be very much appreciated.

Its now 11:15 (I started this post about 1/2 hr ago but had to go say goodbye to a few that were leaving). There are still about 12-15 kids in the basement playing Halo. Looks like they made a nice dent in all the food, but I have a lotof leftovers (especially bagels and HUGE muffins from Costco). I’ll bring the leftovers to Sinners Alley :)

Also,. teh large bottle of Rum are sitting on the kidchen table (I threw the water bottles of tequila out). I know who brought the bottles so it doesn’t matter if she takes it back or not. I am hoping she’ll put on her thinking cap and leave them here. We’ll see…

Found one of the umbrellas a girl was looking for before she left, but we are still short one cellphone. It is probably in the basement, which she (the owner) referred to as a “war zone”
Its on vibrate, so she said trying to call it would be a waste. I am sure it will turn up…

By the way, I am buying everyone a round over in sinners alley (two rounds for jmmom and sbmom) for being so supportive. What rum drink would you like??

Hahaha-- I am sooo tired I forgot I was already posting IN sinners alley. I really need some sleep!!
There are about 7-8 still here, but jsut playing ping pong, foosball, and Halo on the xbox. It has quieted down significantly. I have bever been happier that the cleaning lady comes tomorrow. Anyone speak Portugese?? I could use some help leaving her a note explainging hte extra mess tomorrow!

Wow jym626. Hosting an afterprom party? You are amazing. I just can’t imagine doing something like that! Glad you made it through okay!

Tequila!? Those kids really go at it. (And everybody knows vodka in water bottles is less suspicious looking.) ;)

Thanks for the advice, parents. We’ll see how it goes…

Just have Mr. W check into the Man thread and we’ll get him squared away in no time.

Hopefully, he’s more skilled at screen name selection…lol. I could not call him Mr. W…

Corranged, I agree with jym’s advice. Nice to offer but don’t insist.
