Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

News. TSFS is now playing gigs. Headed down the sluggson path I do believe. So whoever’s buying, count me in for a double.

KarenCollege,

Welcome to SA. Pull up a seat, have a drink and stay a while at the place where it is always cool to wear your sunglasses at night (but it also helps to hide our bloodshot eyes;) )

Page two rescue…

So I saw my dermotologist the other day and asked about laser treatments for skin resurfacing. He asked me my age, then took a good hard look at my face. He told me I didn’t look 45 (!) and it would be silly to get the laser treatment because of the trauma/recovery time and expense wouldn’t be worth the “10%” improvement I could get in smoother skin. He told me to reassess in 10 years and sent me home with Retin A.

I wanted to run away with him! ;)

I should probably add that my dermotologist is absolutely covered in wrinkles. So perhaps my dermotologist needs an opthamologist!

But I figure if a doctor is telling you not to spend $1500 you should listen.

If I were you, I’d take that $1500 and go to a spa somewhere!

I’ll take the $1500, if you’re looking for a place to put it… :-)

Don’t worry, there’s a nice LAC that takes all my disposable cash.

Last week for drinks on Pride of Hawaii. http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/fleet/publicRooms.html?shipCode=PRIDE%20HAWA&displayTab=PhotoGallery</a></p>

Next stop for my Mid is Larvik, Norway to catch the Russian Training Ship Mir. http://www.tallshipmir.ru/foto.html</a></p>

He was one of four Midshipmen chosen for an exchange with the Russian Maritime Academy.

Break out the Vodak!!!

Finally, an article, on LFWB

<a href=“seapower-digital.com - Situs Daftar Judi IDN Poker APK Game Domino QQ Online Terpercaya”>seapower-digital.com - Situs Daftar Judi IDN Poker APK Game Domino QQ Online Terpercaya;

Here is to living a dream!!

Cool! Can I put something in that vodka, or do I have to drink it straight up?

I’ll take some of that vodka, as long as I can mix plenty of O.J. in it…sent D1 off to prom this evening. Of course, she looked stunning (loved to see the expression on her bf’s face when she walked into the room). The two of them weren’t particularly excited about the prom experience (expecting to hate the music), and are being ostracized by their (former) group of friends…BUT–they are going to dinner at an amazing place, and she was nominated to be on the prom court, way cool. So, give me a double please…

Oh, and I forgot to mention that D2 (sophomore) and 3 of her very loud friends are having an “anti-prom” get together at our house tonight. I expected them to be in the home theater (soundproof) watching movies all night—they just decided they are hungry, so they are all in the kitchen while D2 makes quesadillas. Maybe I should make it a Tequila sunrise instead.

LFWB Congrats on your son’s newest voyage!
astro…mom - Whew congrats on having fun time daughters! Why don’t you have a Tequila Sunrise with a Vodka shooter?

My DD’s prom isn’t until the end of June, I’m hoping she’ll allow me to take a picture of her… :)

BHappy—I had one camera, youngest D had 2nd camera—we took a bunch of pics before bf came, then a bunch after he got here. Luckily, our house was the first stop on their paparazzi tour…they were headed back to his house. I suspect he’ll do a lot more of the eye-rolling and teeth-gritting when it’s his own mom behind the camera.

I remember for my D’s prom I was in China. Called the afternoon of prom to find out that the cheongsam I had bought her as a prom dress had been wrongly altered. D in tears. The two men in the house hopeless. I MADE them take her to Bloomingdale’s. Imagine the 14 year old boy helping his tearful sister:

“What do you think of this one little brother?”
“Um.”
“Yeah, I don’t like it either, I like the green one best. What do you think?”
“Um…”
“Good, we agree.”
“Um…”

Off she went in acid green. Or so I’ve been told. Buying the last minute dress took all the possible competence in the house and pictures were not to be had…

BTW, Aluson has asked for electronic keyboard, microphone and sound card for his 17th birthday. Wants to write songs. Perhaps all of Sinner’s Alley has just been a scheme of our smart slacker boys. Or as Aluson told me he is, the slacker nerds…mom scratches her head, thinking, but he has such beautiful blue eyes…

My S had a concert today in our back yard, invited a bunch of friends to practice for his first official gig. He’s turning 16 soon. His style is very acoustic. So for his birthday, he wants a banjo.

Men in charge of buying a prom dress… wow. Like men creating center pieces. Or men running the PTA. Scary!!

DH and I were out for a walk yesterday afternoon and spotted a prom pair & mom doing the photo thing. She had a gorgeous turquoise dress and I told her so.

I miss having a daughter of prom age! S at home is only a callow freshman so it will be a while before I enjoy this again.

LFWB congrats!! on awsome s. I like vodka, so I’ll have my fav gimlet:D

SBMom, men aren’t COMPLETELY hopeless at domestic tasks. I knew a house-husband whose son was in cub scouts. He gave me great advice to avoid sewing on all those badges - Liquid Nails. Those suckers were never coming off!

I’m in a crummy mood at the moment for a variety of reasons. Where are all those great funny stories about when our kids were little? I need a few of them to go with my cyber-drinks!

I second the crummy mood! Prom dresses…IDK
I’m a bit over it to be honest…there are two high schools in our town, so every year it’s been winter formal times 2

now this year add on prom…it’s tough on the budget! and this is the kid who procrastinates on everything…except ordering up that limo at 60 per kid! the first and only time I rode in a limo was my 2nd wedding…

maybe it evens out because younger brother has zero interest in formal or prom?

sorry, no funny stories, or even clever whining here ;)

Liquid nails for merit badges = genius!

jym-that was my request about the Top 10 do and don’t list for the prom party. A party at our house was looking like a distinct possibility for D2 and the gang, but I guess I’m safe (but I’d still like to see your tips!)…in-laws have finalized their travel plans for our daughter’s graduation. They will be arriving the day before the prom and will have put in at least 22 hours traveling by the time they get here, so no midnight-morning party this year, although maybe if we factor in jet-lag, the in-laws could take the late (early?) shift.

This will be a new experience for me, because we always used to live close enough that it was easy to have an afternoon or evening visit with the parents whenever we wanted. So if anyone has a “Top 10 do and don’t list for hosting in-laws for three weeks” list, please post that. Gosh, maybe another post-prom party wouldn’t have been so bad after all!
