Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

Jolly Rancher Lollipops.
Tootsie Roll (5 incher)

Yuck! My mother was obsessively concerned about weight. I could only trick or treat for UNICEF. Still makes me sad. Candy is the holy grail. D came home for a few days. She is thrilled with Halloween candy.

I think SA Bar should start stocking chocolate, or at the very least chocolate liquor.

I thought carefully where to post this. I think maybe here it won’t be misunderstood.

My S had to teach Hebrew school late this afternoon in Brooklyn, so he
went in wearing horns on his head. He said, if challenged, he’d deny to the kids that he was wearing any costume. (5th graders)

You came to the right place. Your son and mine would be friends IRL.

Well doesn’t that take chutzpah! The cute kind. I actually had someone in college tell me that I didn’t look Jewish because I have a small nose. An upstater. (This was in NY.)

I think I’ll have some butterbeer. It’s been a long day.

paying3tuitions – very funny!

No Necco Wafers or Mary Jane chews.

Ever.

Ewww, I’m with you on the Necco Wafers, m&sdad. I’m a Picky Eater in the candy department. Never even heard of Mary Jane chews. It’s pretty much always been m&m’s and Hershey Bars for me. Maybe the occasional Nestle’s Crunch.

Truly revolting: Lemon Heads. Past our time, thank goodness.

OK, where’s the bouncer?

Mod?

Thats what the handy dandy “report problem post” option typed in blue is for, mommusic.

By the way, paying3- thats a great costume idea!! We had neighbors that moved in behind us when I was a kid, and one of their kids asked me that very question. I was dumbdfounded.

So glad I missed the problem post. Is it safe to come back to the Alley yet? When it is, I have to talk about the magazine, Real Simple…

I am still laughing about Aha Uses…

I was catching up for being PC limited for the last week or so… Read mommusic’s call out to the Mod’s…I thought she was objecting to SBmom’s dissing of Lemonheads!!! LOL.

It wasn’t about the lemonheads? Guess I missed something too!

jym–That’s what I did right after I called the bouncer! Worked like a charm. Or maybe it WAS the SA bouncer!

A marmot on steroids. ;)

PS. I would never diss anybody’s choice of candy.

There was a rather crude and tasteless joke.

And you know it qualifies as such when you see how many questionable topics The Alley can handle with ease.

So what did people do with their extra hour last night/this morning?

We saw a movie and got enough sleep for once.

Thats EXACTLY what I did, mommusic! What movie did you see? Saw “Michael Clayton” last night. Last wee we saw “Lars adn the real girl”. Very amusing movie. I recommend it. Michael Clayton wes good, but you had to really pay attention to the details.

I adored Lars and the Real Girl. I thought it was profound and emotionally probing and funny.

Michael Clayton didn’t seem to say anything to me. Well made, but I’ve been there before except for Tom Wilkinson’s amazing performance.

Since D is home for election day break, we’re gorging ourselves on movies. We are seeing Martian Child and American Gangster (at her insistance and my protests) today.

Apparently it is hard for her to get her friends in NYC to go to the movies with her!

We are certified movie geeks, especially DS who lives on IMDB like I live on CC.
