Thin mints are calling you…can you hear them? :D

I don’t usually keep chips around the house, but recently I bought a bag of Terra exotic vegetable chips–made from various root veggies so they’re good for you, right? right?

Then I opened them and sat down with a good book. I am ashamed to say how many servings I ate…

Isn’t one whole bag a serving? Certainly if the package of oreos is a serving (and I’m sure we’ll all agree with that), then the whole bag of chips is one serving. Besides, if the books was decent, those chips have no calories.

OK, I just checked… according to the box, a “serving” of Girl Scouts thin mints is 4 (four) cookies. hahahahahahahaha! And, mafool, try milk instead of coffee. I’ve never seen a day that would not be improved by starting, continuing, and ending with thin mints and milk.

New subject: Went on a “field trip” to the new IKEA today! Went with a friend and found lots of excellent stuff (small accessories, kitchen items) we didn’t know we needed. Even if we hadn’t bought anything, it would have been fun just browsing through the Swedish Museum of Design, as I called it. It’s a museum where you can buy things you see. If I were outfitting children’s rooms now I would definitely buy MUCH here.

They even have 45-min. daycare for children, and the cafeteria has baby food in jars. They’ve thought of everything!

We could see their huge blue/yellow sign from miles away as we approached…it’s sort of like the Emerald City in Oz.

We have had some fun at IKEA but I never have purchased anything. Is their bedding still “off sized?” Time was when they sold beds in “swedish” sizes (well, that might not be exactly correct). They didn’t have “twin”, “full”, “queen” or “king” but their own special sized bedding with their own special sized sheets, etc. I always liked the look of the beds, but couldn’t bring myself to buy their linens too!

My sis swears by their really cheap glassware. Says it lasts forever and when it breaks, it is incredibly cheap to replace.

My good friend had them re-do her $180,000 kitchen. It’s beautiful! They converted an old car-barn to a house and made a two car garage into a kitchen. Fantastic.

I’m here for a drink and some company after reading Late To School’s latest post.

I’m thinking of something steely and strong in her honor.

Bartender, one Spandrel please. (what would that be? steely: excellent vodka, very dry, so just a bit of something else? A squeeze of lime?. Ideas?)

They have 2 subzero frig’s, 2 dishwashers (I think they were Bosch, but not positive), some fancy freezer. And this range! Wow! Even so, it is a huge room, maybe 25x30, with tons of cabinets and a built-in table for their large family. Fancy wood floors, and the coolest windows overlooking Marg’s herb garden and the goldfish pond (not included in kitchen price). It really is nice. Funniest thing is that, of course, Marg doesn’t cook that much. Still, she can sure whip up a cup of tea!

mominva–I think I will join you that drink to our friends. The anisette in vodka sounds intriquing.

Spandrel reminds me of spaniel, but a drink that is reminiscent of wet dog does not sound so pleasant! So I’ll go along with the “spandex” idea. :D

I am pretty sure the thin mints we bought in front of Lowes, lasted only for the 5 min car ride home ;)

Personally I am a samoas fan, or tag alongs, but at my age I am too smart to buy them…I hate exercising and 1 cookie would mean at least the thought I might have to exercise. That is how I make my eating decisions now…will this make me THINK I need to exercise, if yes, than I pass! So sad. It reminds me of the movie Freaky Friday with Jamie Lee Curtise, where she eats a french fry because she is now in her daughters body!
