Just want to update this thread in case it can help someone in a similar situation. I received an email from AO in my son’s university (UMD) that skipping an AP exam does not affect the admission status even though he put in his common app that he was planning to take it. My son will still take 4 AP exams, I am completely fine with him skipping one as long as it does not affect his college admission. Thanks for all your replies!
