My kid has Swarthmore on the list, but it’s really an outlier compared to some of our in-state Texas schools on the list. Hopefully we will get to visit at some point. I was there years ago as part of a business conference and I loved the atmosphere and the area.
Just saying but Olin and Tufts are not walks in the parks to get in. Hopefully there are a few safeties.
How about Tufts? Seems like a good school for an engineering student who isn’t sure about engineering, or who wants to do more than engineering. Tufts’s school of engineering has about 1,000 students (out of 6,000 undergrad enrollment at Tufts overall). Engineering students can take classes and even have second majors or minors in the school of arts and sciences. They can also take classes at the school of the museum of fine arts.
Engineering students who wind up preferring a non-engineering major can easily transfer to the school of arts and sciences.
