I personally have not heard back but I have a friend that said that she knows of someone at the second weekend who heard back!
My son did not get the scholarship. ACT 35, GPA unweighted 4.0 weighted 4.3, National Merit Scholar, large public high school (although he is Catholic), several AP’s with 4’s and 5’s, 1.5 years volunteering in a hospital ED, leadership position at work, great letters of rec, Varsity football, internship. Two excellent interviews at SLU. Posting this because I believe these scholarships are mostly meant for kids from Catholic schools.
The reason is that during his interview weekend we met in a small group with or admissions counselor and 8 or 9 current Pres Scholars from our region. Someone asked them whether they went to Catholic or public high schools and ALL of them came from Catholic schools. Coincidence? We also met several other current scholars from Catholic schools that weekend. Even though SLU seems to give out more scholarships than some schools, if you’re coming from a public high school I believe your odds of getting the Presidential are extremely low. These interview weekends are expensive and time-consuming. I wish he had tried for WashU instead. I feel his odds would have been about the same.
