Keurig (essential), as well as unnecessary stuff ( to me) - stand mixer, espresso maker, toaster oven. Also canisters, cookie jar, jar with dog treats, basket with bread, crock with spoons, etc.
Way too much, but I keep getting overruled.

We have a wine fridge and wine rack for the cheap reds in the kitchen. The hard liquor which we don’t drink much is in the pantry. The stuff I use for cooking is in the island table (marsala, port, Madeira). I don’t keep much fruit out, partly because I don’t eat much, and partly because fruit flies are a problem.
I have no desire for a decorator’s kitchen. But there is stuff on my counters that shouldn’t be there. Non-kitchen items.
In case I fail at this strategy I have an old fashioned glass wasp catcher, like an inverted sort of funnel, that I put some apple cider vinegar in to catch fruit flies. I hang it on the banana hanger.
I have a two level fruit thingy that is made of wire/metal so the fruit can breathe - I tend to keep bananas on top and then another fruit or two underneath - I try to limit the types of fruit I buy so that it all gets eaten. Won’t say I’ve never had gnats but rarely.
Nespresso machine and toaster oven.
This thread reminds me of another, either on cc or on gardenweb, “What’s on your dining table right now?” The responses made me feel better about my quest for tidy and the somewhat, ahem, contradictory reality. Had the question been, “What’s on your kitchen island?” my response would have been even more disturbing. But where else am I supposed to put the junk mail, headphones, coupons, appliance touch-up paint, and all the other things that temporarily enjoy living on an island?!
Back to small appliances, I found that the 2-slice toaster fits easily in a drawer. It’s light and easy to put back right after use. The small appliances in cupboards are not quite as easy to grab.
It’s possible that I started that mindless thread too…(blushing…)

I like your threads, @abasket!
We use our toaster just about every day. Coffee stuff too. Blender at least 2x/week. It’s funny what the anthropologists can read into these facts!
Coffee pot and toaster. And I want to eject the toaster.
I have the dream kitchen now with more space imaginable, yet we still have stuff on the counters. We have a “breakfast area” toaster, coffee grinder, coffee maker, can opener (gotta feed the kitties every morning. Over there is the kitchen aid which we use a lot. On my main area next to the stove I have out the olive oil (it comes in an attractive bottle so it’s not some huge jug), a set of knives and canisters with flour, sugar, popcorn (don’t ask, it’s a daily necessity) and raw sugar.
Coffee maker, toaster (both used daily), smoothly blender (like a Bullet, used on weekends), and my beloved Hamilton Beech can opener (seriously, I love this thing). All others are in cupboards.
Espresso maker, a food scale, and the SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker II are on the counter. Food processors, electric griddle, and toaster all have homes in the cabinets. Even the cable box is in a cabinet with an electric eye or whatever it is called.
I only answered about appliances but now we are talking about stuff so… Aside from the toaster and coffee maker, I have a knife block, a jar holding too many spatulas, spoons & flippers, small wine rack, cutting boards (they are behind the knife block), a cookie jar full of medicines we really don’t use, a cute box holding vitamins & ibuprofen and a box that is full of tennis balls & a dog brush. The tennis ball box (also known as the time out box) is very important to a four legged member of the house. His chuck- it is usually near by and he is always ready for a game right out the back door and off the deck.
This thread really makes me think about how often (or not often) I use what IS on my counter.
Toaster? Maybe once or twice a week. Coffee maker? Only on the weekend - I make my one cup at work. Blender/food processor? Maybe 3-4 times a month? But they are also awkward to store, so on the counter they stay.
I have a small rectangular shaped kitchen (condo) No pantry closet.
I have a white 3 shelf cabinet next to the kitchen for my pantry items on which I keep a toaster oven.
I have a tea kettle on the stove which has a microwave above it and a canister set on the other side.
The counter space I try to keep clean so that I feel I have some space for meal preparation.
I have held off buying kitchen appliances because of lack of space and I don’t like clutter.
Anything I buy would have to find a place in a cabinet as space is limited.
Ideally appliances which are multipurpose would be ideal for me.
Keurig and toaster. Aside from those - knifes, spoon rest, shallow bowl for fruit and another for tomatoes. Fruit is just one piece of each available type so it can be eaten at room temp. Tomatoes always out, never in fridge!
I have an alcove between the refrigerator and a cabinet below the microwave and that’s where the toaster and Keurig live. So they are out but not in your face. No other appliances are out; they live in drawers or cabinets and the crockpot comes up from the basement when it’s needed. There is a fruit bowl and a Bose speaker on the counter. The knives are in a drawer as are the spices and olive oil, etc. I do have a cutting board in the shape of a pig that my grandfather made leaning against the backsplash.
Oooh, I’m so happy that other people keep ibuprofen in the kitchen too! I don’t think I even have any in my medicine cabinet. I’ll have to work on putting it in a cookie jar, that sounds great.
We have ibuprofen, generic zyrtec (both from Costco), vitamin D, and nasal spray easily accessible in a kitchen cabinet. In my old kitchen, they were lined up on the windowsill! Giant bag of cough drops in the pantry, except for this week, where it is parked by my side.
A Cuisinart Grind & Brew coffee maker and a toaster oven, that’s it for appliances. However, other useful items are arranged in a coffee/tea station (pretty large wrought iron grape leaf tray) such as several bags of coffee beans, a coffee press, a pretty coffee thermos, a crystal dish full of various sweetener packages, dish of flavored coffee creams, and a box of fancy teas - the rest are pretty kitchen decorative items. One of my favorite rooms in the house.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the iHome that I put my iPhone on to play music when I’m working in the kitchen - although lately I’ve been bingeing due to CC! For some reason I didn’t think of that as an appliance.
