I think the communications school has a huge amount of coursework in hands on tv and film
Production - technical stuff. I was considering that practice, non theory based coursework as pre professional.
My 25 applied to tv production and that was their attraction - it was hands on and had lots of opportunities for class work that was applied. (Decided to do engineering instead so is off to another university)
That felt different to me, but as I said there is no hard hard distinction here
