Well, the car buying question seems to be heating up here. I’m sitting at home having been towed halfway across the world since the car died on my way to work. We stopped at looked at the cars on the lot after filling out the service paperwork…but the tow truck driver has definitely talked me out of a smart car!

Sorry, but I’d be scared …less driving a tiny, slow moving Smartcar on the interstate trying to do 80 mph with 18 wheelers pushing me on all sides. Do the Smartcar’s passenger seats come equipped with diapers?

Add me to the would never consider driving a smart car on the highway club. I looked at the MSRP of the smart car and it is $12-$17. You can buy a lot more car for that than the smart car offers. I think the honda fit, and a toyota corolla are both excellent choices, and much safer. I would recommend MSN if you want to compare a lot of cars quickly.

Thought of this discussion when I read this article this morning.

These 10 bad luck cars probably have very unfavorable driver demographics – lots of new drivers and rental car drivers.

The Smart car is anything but. Tiny, slow, poor gas mileage for its size, and poor resale value.
