Smart drugs for AP Test

There’s no such thing as smart drugs. They don’t exist outside of movies.

Personally, I drink pure peppermint tea before huge exams. They help a lot. Peppermint is supposed to help you concentrate more.

As for the morals of drugs, I’m sure everyone here drinks coffee during all-nighters or has drinker coffee before a test for energy. Is that cheating because it’s a stimulant? Is it cheating for insomniacs to take sleeping pills partially because their school performance is being harmed for it?

Just saying, there’s nothing immoral about taking adderall. Stupid and possibly life ruining: yeah. It’s not immoral though.

Anyways as an example: if someone pulls many all-nighters or consumes all of their free time to take a test, they basically sacrificed in exchange for the grade. Why is it any different when someone sacrifices their health in exchange for a grade? Either way it shows that they care. Someone on adderall still has the same knowledge as someone not on it, which is all that should count.

lol sorry about the rant but one of my pet peeves is “no tolerance” drug arguments.

If you think that’s cheating, do you think it’s cheating that I have to take Allergy medicine, otherwise I can’t see and have to blow my nose every 5 minutes?

^^ How is adderall life threatening? I’ve read that there are very few side-effects.

I’ve always used the extra strength 5 hour energy shots, but they don’t seem to work (although I don’t feel drowsy). I don’t have a high tolerance against caffeine though seeing as how I don’t have it in my system on a daily basis…

You guys need to man up and start taking some adderall, because the sooner you do, the sooner you’ll get a 5…

@mtv22: I wouldn’t say it’s life-threatening, but it’s easy to get addicted to. It’s an amphetamine and it affects the reward pathway in the brain, which makes you want to keep taking it. I know that it’s banned in some countries, and it’s quite a bit controversial here, but only because of the amount of people who abuse it. My friends refer to it as “baby meth,” and for good reason.

I was just trying to find this topic on CC last week! Haha, funny how such things work…

But anyway, “my friend” has succumbed to the temptations of adderall as well this week. I think “my friend” is going to take a 20mg pill. Any recommendations as to how long before the exam it should be taken? And if it should be crushed?

Like what is the proper procedure?

I hope “your friend” has tried the drug at least once before, as you wouldn’t want “your friend” to have some nasty side effects during the test.

Tell your friend to stay hydrated throughout the test. Most proctors won’t care if you drink water. Also tell your friend not to tell anyone they’re on Adderall because if the proctors find out or your school, it could be considered cheating and your score would be canceled.

So keep it low-key, drink water, relax.

I’m not sure if it would be considered cheating, but since (and I’m assuming here) that this “friend” doesn’t have a prescription, it is illegal to take it. It wouldn’t be cheating if the person had ADHD, and the proctors won’t know if they do or not. But still, since it takes about 30 mins to an hour to kick in (depending on the person), just have this “friend” take it an hour before the test and don’t tell anyone about it.

Anyone try noots?

Okay, I’ll pass that info along! Thanks guys :)

Don’t swallow it, duh – chew it. It takes terrible but do it. You can also crush it up and snort it (NOT RECOMMENDED!) or parachute it (google it). If you swallow it, it’ll take longer to kick in plus it will last 8 hours or so (if this is Adderall XR we’re talking about). Chewing it/crushing it will make it hit you immediately, which is what you want (take it right before the test). I guess the effects are supposed to last just as long no matter how you take it but for “my friend”, it wore off faster after chewing it. Which is good – if Adderall makes you twitchy, you don’t want to be tweaked out all day. You only need about 4 hours worth of effects, anyway.

If it’s Adderall XR Extended relief then it’s probably in a capsule. Instead of chewing it you could break open the capsule. I’m not sure how favorable that will be other than it reacting extremely quickly. Inside the capsule are little grainy things. More surface area=quicker reaction rate. Someone might have explained that already. I feel like breaking the capsule and just swallowing the grainy things will be more desired than chewing it up though. Ew. Haha.

@Drawde: I have not tried any nootropics, but probably because the only way to really get them is over the internet since they’re not mainstream, and I don’t think my parents would support buying online drugs, haha. I do know that there are very few adverse effects, which is what makes them so attractive, but I also know that there are very few scientific studies on the drugs, and I’ve heard that they might not actually work. I was doing some research on Piracetam, but again, there’s very little data on its effects on healthy people.

If anyone has any experience with nootropics, I would greatly appreciate your opinion on them.

I’m not taking aderall, I’m taking Concertra, and I’m only using it for AP tests and I am certain I won’t succumb to taking it more and more, especially since school’s almost over and all my non-AP classes I have no reason to need it.

@Ambriesce, I’ve taken noots, piracetam and aniracetam, both about 500mg with 100mg choline. 2 pills, 2 times a day = 4 pills in all. Taken for about a week, I haven’t seen any effects yet.
