Smith Alumnae Network

Both the formal and informal parts of the Smith alumni network has impressed me. (I use “alumni” because one of my best friends is a Smith alumni, with a Ph.D. in Social Work, and is active in the Alumni Association to the point where he was a sacrificial lamb running for the board.) One alum, the friend of a local Smith alum “ballet mom,” even met with us in D.C. and offered advice on such esoteric (to me) things as where to go to buy a good suit for moderate prices. Another alum serves as the local coordinator for the Smith D.C. program and has an impressive rolodex judging by the things she lined up for the Smithies last Summer/Fall.

I’ve heard too many stories of Smithies opening their doors and homes to other Smithies, previously sight unseen, when traveling abroad.
