SNOW wanted. Hiking. Family vaca.

If this is a Christmas vacation trip, you WILL pay a premium for the trip. And many of the best places book a year in advance.

I second Leavenworth. Stevens Pass is excellent skiing, and Leavenworth is such a unique town. I feel like I’m in Germany there. Many great B&B’s, and both the lodging and skiing aren’t crazy expensive. The only thing is, it may be a hassle getting there, as you’d want to fly into Wenatchee, smaller field…as Seattle would be about a three hour drive. My husband went snow shoeing right out the back of our hotel (while the rest of us were sleeping), and he said it was beautiful, just magical.

Thanks :)

Steamboat Springs, CO where you can also swim in hot springs as well as cross-country ski, iceskate, take a course in how to drive on ice, downhill ski, eat well, sled, and learn to skijump. Plus they love families and have all kinds of family discounts.

OR… Whistler/Blackcomb, BC–all of the above, but it’s in Canada (where 19 year olds can drink) and doesn’t have the hot springs.
