She does this traditionally for a few weeks until she realizes he isn’t coming back. I am breaking her of it because I am doing my yrly pack up all of the outgrown kids clothes for the Goodwill and the bed is getting full. This stops her because she can’t smell his scent as well and she is TOO LAZY to move piles of clothes.

Newterpmom, I know what you mean, b/c I will have that next yr. The one thing I always loved when we lived in NC was they only required a back plate, so n the front you always saw parents with a house divided on their front plate…i.e. Duke/UNC on ea side or UNC/NCST. I have seen the house divided on a website for all of the ACC teams, so if DD gets into VaTech I am going to buy that flag with UMD. Luckily DS1 will graduate before DS2 goes to college, so I won’t have to find a tri-flag :D

DS seems to be getting settled into a routine too. I had to send him a few items and discovered that I can get a package to him by UPS in 24 hours. He was very happy to find a batch of brownies in the box, which he shared with his roommate last night. I’m enjoying his stories of encounters with other students, esp. since he’s normally an introvert and he’s working hard to meet people. He played baritone in the HS band but didn’t go out for band at Maryland. Yesterday he met a baritone player carrying her horn out to band practice and struck up a conversation with her. That’s momentously outgoing for him, lol.
