Momoboyz – similar experience with Parents Weekend. Saying good bye was easier because we did it in Arnold Hall, having pizza with son and two friends. They left instead of our leaving (we did the clean-up afterwards). Somehow I think that was easier for them because they were joking around and THEY did the walking. Still, that first night back was tough on them. I am seeing a pattern now. (For us, this was our second visit with son since he was allowed out three weeks prior to attend a family wedding). The first day after a leave or seeing family is really hard but then they get back into the rhythm of things and it seems ok. Having said that, they still like to look forward to the next break or Recognition. Ditto the love hate dynamic – it’s very much there.

It really does get better for them. I just received an e-mail from my daughter. She’s taking an international trip over the holidays and will only have a few jetlagged days at home. We’re both excited about the opportunity, but once again, I get to cry. Somebody send me some chocolate and I actually prefer margaritas to merlot. Please add salt. ;)

Oooo momoftwins. Well, I’m sending you salsa & chips to go with that margarita. Chocolate doesn’t seem to fit the bill with the salt. Isn’t it funny (atleast I find it so) that we push them to fly & go after their dreams for so long then when they take off, we go “Ooops. I didn’t realize they were gonna fly quite that high”. LOL I’m loving this Sea Year thing for my kid but I just get a little lonely for some face time. If I didn’t have emails now & again, I’d hang myself from the shower curtain rod, I know it. LOL Boy, they grow up QUICK! Good thing I’ve got this grandbaby coming so I can start all over. Hope she’s gonna play T-ball & climb trees with me!!! She might even go to WP.

Naaaaahhh. GO NAVY!! ;)

I’ll bet she does ballet and rodeo while she’s melting all those Carolina hearts. ;)

Okay, salsa and chips and chocolate and margaritas.
:D
