I would like to back what alamemom said. I am going to share some information that I have not talked about here before. Frankly, everyone here outshines my academic record by far (even those of you who say you have terrible stats). I only have a 3.5 gpa. When I say 3.5, I mean weighted/unweighted are identical. I have zero AP, IB classes and SAT scores that I am 100% certain are the lowest here (medical issue to explain both, but I am not getting into that in this forum). Yet, I have ten times the EC’s/community service hours that I have seen anyone else here quote. I also wrote killer essay’s (affirmed by my counselor who reads for one of the most competitive UC).

I have not received a rejection letter yet. I am statistically speaking, a “reject”. But USC has sent me through the process just like the rest of you. They do have a holistic approach to their admittance process. I am certain that they read every single word, on every single application. That is the only reason I am still here with the rest of you. They took the time to read my story, and move me along in the process rather than tossing my app. in the garbage. That shows me how hard they are working for us.

I guess I am trying to say, don’t just assume a certain status means you are rejected. Also don’t assume because part of your “package” does not compare to someone else, that you will not be accepted. I am proof that they are looking, reading, examining, reviewing, and thinking. I can’t tell you if I am going to get in, but I can tell you that I have enjoyed the ride and dream of getting that big fatty white envelope just like the rest of you.

Hang in there, we will all find out in the next three days. Best of luck to all of you.
