I understand that - however there is a reason that the fed isn’t doing any further easing (or at least that’s what they’re saying). This market may have a slight correction but it is going a lot higher by the end of the year.

My view is always that Mr. Market tries to screw as many people of as much money as possible. The retail investor isn’t participating yet but will and all those folks who are calling for a large correction are what’s keeping the market moving up. These folks will move the market up when they panic to get in.

At the moment, I’m more watching what happens and what they plan to do so that I can respond rather than what they are telling us. Reading the details is for the weekend.

I run a small consulting firm that works for clients in many parts of the world. It feels to me that the economy is turning up based upon what I see. Companies we are talking to seem to be starting spending money that they’ve been hoarding. In the last few months, we’ve added as clients three US companies (they have been relatively reluctant spenders), several European companies, one Mexican company, and a couple of very small gigs in Asia. Brazil seems to be slowing down, though we have one client there and another prospect. Prospects also in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the US and India (one former and one prospective client). To the extent that this increase in willingness to spend on our sterling services is correlated with anything, it seems that one driver of economic growth is falling into place.

“So…BCEagle91…do you agree with the Fed guy in the link?”

After four years I think we’ve seen everything the Fed has to offer. So “No Thanks” on more of the same. (I did enjoy the Comments at the end of the article!)

Just noting that a popular amusement park nearby is having a job fair to hire several hundred workers for the summer season. I suspect that they figure that high gasoline prices are going to keep people on short vacation stays this summer - even as people have money to spend on amusements for their families.

I see that the initial reaction in the S&P futures is to sell a little bit.

I don’t see the numbers for jobs in the state and local govt sectors. Jobs have been decreasing in that sector and one reason the job market is weak.

Cost of gas should be the least concern of people going to amusement parks…The price of a 1 day ticket to Hershey is 57 bucks, 20± to park, throw in some food and drink, and a family of 4 is going to spend 350 bucks very easily…
