Just called the NH DOR and wrote them a letter requesting that they transfer my 2008 credit over to my 2010 bill and remove interest and penalties applied. You’d think that they would already do this but their procedures can’t deal with a gap in returns. Now I actually have to do the return.

My personal (Federal and state) is 121 pages. That represents 2 of the 14, but the longest of the 14. I gave up a long time ago on doing it by hand. I don’t envy your 58 pages, notrichenough.

My Fed + State is 41 pages. I guess I got off easy. I don’t know how long the other returns are (probably 6 total) but these paperwork levels are getting crazy.

I store my tax stuff in a Notes application (One Note for Windows or Growly Notes for Mac). I drag my PDFs into Growly Notes and type in my calculations and notes in there and I have my whole return notes on my laptop. I also have TurboTax installed and need to print to a PDF and then drop the PDF in Growly Notes. I also keep printed copies at home in a file cabinet.

“Perhaps you can take all of your documentation down to your local IRS center and ask them to figure out what to do with the $700.”

I should. :)

I don’t think it can ever be figured out because the buy and sell numbers are wrong. I can’t reconcile numbers that make no sense. I was a bank reconciler in another life. :)

You sell something for 1,000 three times and the total is 2756 on the sheets.

What would be nice is if you could go to the service center and get the equivalent of an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) where you could put in a number that doesn’t add up and then just indicate the RMA number next to it and get a pass on it.

I’m short stock against options in a MLP…and I get a call that I might get bought in…which is bs…because there has to be stock around…investors love MLPs. I know there is stock around because my partner has no problem borrowing the stock…;)

And I can’t cut a tree down without going thru a long process with the town…
Even though I am going to save the town money and the tree should be
taken out.

And the town and Schwab are supposed to call me and they don’t.

Ok…I feel better now after writing this. I am going to take a walk with my daughter.
