So That's Why Cable Companies and Verizon are Dropping Prices?

H only likes CNBC and unfortunately it involves the cable company. I saw that CNBC offers realtime streaming for like $35 per month for that channel- we pay $70 for cable and $50 for internet. no competition here in the mountains.
It would involve a laptop carrying around and what if they up the price?

@lbowie – sadly, we sit directly behind the mountain that is line-of-sight to the mountain hosting the TV transmission antennas, so we’re not predicted to get any good coverage from a digital antenna according to the website that helps you figure that stuff out. Sad, because that would be perfect. We probably watch under 10 hours of TV a year; mostly want it in case of local new issues. And figure skating at the Olympics.

Mr turned turned in the TV this morning and asked me if I wanted to watch the Ebola channel (CNN) or the Hysteria channel (CNBC). That’s all we watch, about 20 min in the morning and sometimes half an hour in the evening. $90 per month (this is what it costs here to get these 2 channels - I’m not kidding) is waaaay too much!

We pay $20+ a month for basic cable. We live in a valley and tried to get reception with just an antenna but only got static. With our subscription, we can also watch Fox, NBC and ABC on their apps without any extra charge–for now. We also have Amazon Prime, which H likes because he buys stuff and likes the free/reduced shipping. We have NOT watched things via amazon prime, but perhaps may one day.
