<p>It’s possible. Both Georgia Tech and Georgia saw a considerable increase(3k+) in undergraduate applications this year. I can’t comment on a national level, but I think Class of 2013 HS graduates were simply much larger than past classes. Again, this is pure speculation. Both UGA and Georgia Tech have seen a steady, consistant increase in applications and admissions profiles.</p>
<p>However, other smaller schools in Georgia seem to fair about the same(GSU, KSU, GA Southern etc)</p>
<p>I’m not sure how private schools like Emory did. Regardless, it’s quality, not quantity. UGA accepted the same number of students as years before, there were simply more applicants this year.</p>
