It was the “even in” that put me off - “even in Goa, where the Jewish population is less known of” would have made more sense, for example.
And yes, Falasha became a pejorative term over the years, but I didn’t say it wasn’t. I merely noted it because it’s one people are usually more familiar with.
Not trying to pick a argument with you by any means - your statement just didn’t ring right in my mind :)

…so, weather’s been pretty mild recently…

Tell me the one about the friend you knew, and the last good night that we toasted to.

EDIT: *an argument, in my previous post -.-

Basically, I think we’re on the same page here, but the internet sadly does not convey inflections :frowning: haha

All I was saying was that despite the actual smallness of the number of Jews in the world we seem to find our way into just about every crevice!

And the weather here is LOVELY collegehopefull, I’m sorry you’re experiencing mild weather haha

Well, Ithaca has the damn lake effect, so there’s normally quite a bit of snow.

Right now however, we’re having a ‘heat’ wave. (50 deg Fahrenheit, lol)
Which isn’t that good actually, because it means everything is wet outside. Muddy snow is gross.

Agreed. And now that we’re having a “heat” wave it’s just turning into mud…extra soupy mud that is.

I love how only a few people actually from Yale have added to this conversation…I really want to know from someone who’s actually there, you know? We can speculate all we want, but that doesn’t tell us much.

Post in the 2012 board? With a referral back here?

To revert back to the original topic of this thread…
I don’t know the answer, but I do know who I’ll date if I go to Yale…[Emma Watson](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvTESi9WOdA&fmt=18)

I haven’t read all of this since i last posted, but just to respond to ‘Hunt’ about not making friends in classes, i am going to say that it depends on the person and class. There are certain classes where I generally sit down, listen to the lecture and leave without really getting to know people. But in other classes, i have found that i have definetely made friends. Language/english/seminar classes are small so you get to know the other 15 people in the class really well (especially since these classes are discussion based rather than lecture). It was my experience that in my seminar that ended at 12:50, a bunch of us would go to lunch together afterwards.

In other classes, like sciences and math, the problem sets tend to be hard so people form study groups. At first i tended to only get together with people from my class to do the homework, but after a few homework sessions we all became good friends and hang out outside of the class setting.

if anyone has any specific questions, i’d be happy to answer but its hard to talk about socializing overall since it is such a broad topic.

and hookem- it was in the YDN a few days ago that she decided to go to cambridge. so sorry to burst your romantic dreams…
