if you are a prefrosh, you are technically not allowed to go to any parties, even if you visit for cornell days. you have to trust us when we say that the social life is amazing! everyone here definitely knows how to study and party. freshman year, you basically only go to frat parties first semester. once second semester rolls around, you can choose to rush for a frat/sorority (which i guessing is what you are planning on doing). rush for girls isnt so torturous as people say…its literally jsut walking around in the cold for 4 days straight and talking until your face falls off. if you receive a bid, your social life is dominated around the sorority. its so much fun. even if you arent sure about rushing or not, i would do it just for the experience. my friend wasnt so sure about being in a sorority, but she went through the rush process, is in one now, and absolutely loves it. plus, with the whole rush process for girls, it may suck at first when you are cut by the houses you like, but you eventually end up in a house which suits you perfectly :)
