We already answered your first question here, http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/northeastern-university/651361-empty.html, and those answers are all correct: campus is never empty. Even in summer. The only time campus feels empty is winter break and 7-11 am on saturday/sunday mornings when people are hungover and sleeping.

Food is decent. I’m a middler and still go to the caf and go to a lot of on-campus food places. If you ever get bored there are a million restaurants within like 5/10 minutes.

There are lots parties, but they’re usually somewhat smaller apartment parties, like 30 people max, and they can be hard to find as a freshman when your friends don’t have apartments. Especially now that I’m older and have made a lot of connections, I can always find something to do if I want to go out.

NEU is pretty liberal, but there are a lot of people who aren’t very politically active. I think people could probably fit in regardless–I definitely know some republicans around campus.

People don’t bike around campus because it’s very compact and crowded. Everything on campus is basically 10 minutes away (15 tops) from everything else so walking is most convenient. But, if you live further off campus (ie Mission hill), or co-op within biking distance, biking is pretty popular. I for one do NOT feel the need to bike down the busy streets of boston, because I’d probably die.
