Some Questions About UC Health Insurance.

Yes, I read that as well. I am all for changing my insurance, I have the worse of the worse insurance, LA Care. I use to have Kaiser’s insurance(Which was amazing), but I changed jobs and I got stuck with this. I have tried to call them(Ashe Center) a few times, but get sent place to place. And, I was looking, it appears the health insurance just may in fact be PPO.

But I also see this…

3 different tiers on their site.

The new medical plan includes a 3-tier structure:
1st Tier: Ashe Student Health Center and UC Family Medical Centers (UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCSF, UCD)
No deductible
10% CO-INSURANCE by the student or copayment for certain services ($15 specialist visits at UC Family, $15 physical or occupational therapy)
$2,000 annual Out-of-Pocket Maximum

2nd Tier: Anthem Network Providers
$300 deductible
20% co-insurance by the student or copayment for certain services ($40 specialist visit, $40 physical or occupational therapy)
$3,000 annual Out-of-Pocket Maximum

3rd Tier: Out-of-Network Providers

You’d think they would make it a bit more simplified. I get the 3rd tier, but 1st and 2nd I guess are UCLA insurance or going with Anthem? I don’t know, I will try calling them again later today.

All I want to know is where, where do I sign up, or does it automatically enroll you in, and when does it enroll you in?
