I believe it. I was recently talking to a mom whose child was almost at the bottom 25% of enrollment (ACT 21) and yet, the kid was given a small “merit scholarship”. Of course it worked its magic by flattering the parents into paying the rest of the money.

LOL… and I love to get the requests for donations from my kids’ schools that say that “X dollars for tuition, room & board doesn’t actually cover the costs of each student.” So therefore, open up your wallet and donate! Got a phone call like that the other night, some Work Study student of course! Told her “I don’t even donate to my own school, Syracuse University, (#1 Basketball Team in the country) I am not donating to my children’s schools.” I was very polite, very pleasant, it is the student’s Work Study Job, after all. Her reply was that most parents she called didn’t donate! Everybody is hurting!

…and middle America hurts when every last cent is used to pay the bills while stretched beyond limits to pay for college. Why on earth would parents donate if they can use that money to pay down Staffords, interest on unsbub Staffords, airfares home, etc., all while paying every day bills that we all have!!!

On my Post #19, what I meant was that the Enrollment Manager’s job is to get people to enroll with the least amount of aid possible! Just noticed what I wrote didn’t look right.
