<p>SteveM - this is great info! My son would be entering UNT as a classical trumpeter who is very interested in becoming more proficient at jazz. Do you know anything about their classical program for brass instruments (playing opportunities, competitiveness, perception of the classical program by the bigger/more prestigious jazz program etc.)? Also, UNT seemed to have pretty clear-cut programs - you are either jazz studies or classical. Do you know if there are opportunities for a classical trumpeter to gain experience on the jazz side?</p>
