Son Sues Mother Over Facebook Posts

Unfriending your mother. If only it was so easy…

I’m talking about the replies to the original article from the link.

HotCanary - I was joking about CC, but I have to admit that lots of discussions here could be described the same way.

I thought that you might be joking, but I was afraid to assume. My experience with some message boards is that they are like navigating a mine field. That’s why I post rarely, even if a topic interests me. Usually someone comes along and says what I would have said. Discussions everywhere seem to go that route, and I usually ignore it, but sometimes they just suck me in, you know?

I need to learn how to use those little winky smiley faces.

Wow, can’t you get in trouble for changing someone’s password without permission? Isn’t that considered . . . I don’t know, hacking or something?

I can understand being concerned by your son’s risky behavior, but pretending to be him and trying to alienate his friends? Yeeeeah, nothing good will come of that.

Semicolon close-parenthesis, like so:

Carry on, carry on!

Now I can be even more sarcastic -

Kinda makes you wonder about the attorney who would handle such a case–sounds like it needs more of a social worker/counselor/psychologist than the legal system involved. <sheesh></sheesh>

I don’t get it either. I think it’s mostly media hype of a few cases, borne of stupidity by posters who don’t use their privacy settings properly. You definitely don’t have to make people your friend, you can definitely choose not to use your full name (my kids and their friends do not), and you definitely can create privacy such that one can’t write on your wall (among many other more extensive privacy options).

I’m not defending FB and I absolutely agree they have made a lot of changes that can make it a challenge to use the settings correctly but the fear is quite overblown IMHO.

Sorry to go off topic here, but Arkadelphia? Is that really a name of a city?

Google is your friend: www.cityofarkadelphia.com – you can find out everything you wanted to know about the area.

Google and I need to stop meeting this way. My husband might get jealous.

I don’t, (wonder why that is).

I just got further along in the thread, that part was covered.
