Songs about goodbye/growing up?

My son sang “Don’t You Forget About Me” by Simple Minds. Great lyrics, but a little more up tempo so it didn’t seem like such a tear-jerker (well, me and hubby were an embarrassment . . .)

Goodbye from Catch Me if You Can!

Corner of the Sky - Pippin

“For Good” from Wicked.

Some great suggestions mentioned already. Corner of the sky…great. Irish blessing kind of short but lovely. Our time and circle game are wonderful too.I don’t know if “friends” by Michael w Smith is too preachy? It would be so awesome.

Packing up the dreams God planted
In the fertile soil of you
I can’t believe the hopes He’s granted
Means a chapter of your life is through

But we’ll keep you close as always
It won’t even seem you’ve gone
'Cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong

And friends are friends forever
If the Lord’s the Lord of them
And a friend will not say never
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it’s hard to let you go
In the Father’s hands we know
That a lifetime’s not too long
To live as friends

Once Upon a Time from the musical BRKLYN

No One is Alone- Into the Woods

OK - this is slightly off topic - but all this makes me think of the “Goodbye Song” from Spelling Bee… which for the longest time my husband had set to play whenever he shut down his computer! LOL (So, this is on topic in that it’s a goodbye song from a musical - but off topic in that - I’m not at all serious that it should be sung as a Senior goodbye!)

You could just bust out Prayer of the Comfort Counselor as the serious senior goodbye!

“Once Before I Go” by Peter Allen.

I was just listening to “No Day but Today.” I love that song, it always makes me tear up. I like the live concert version of Idina’s.

My S did “This is the Moment” from Jekyll and Hyde. Tear jerker but appropriate for performer types!
