Sophomore Looking for Safety/Target Schools for Playwriting/History Double Major! (INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS WELCOME!)

Have you thought about Drexel? It offers a major in Screenwriting and Playwriting (and minor in either). Depending on your historical interests, Philadelphia is a great place to be. Additionally, Drexel has a big focus on co-ops, particularly useful to get experience for your resume for either major.

U. of the South (aka, Sewanee) is known for its creative writing program and offers a playwriting track within it and is also strong in history.

U. of Cincinnati (OH) could be another school to investigate. It offers a certificate in screenwriting. Also, there is a Critical Visions certificate that I found through the history department that sounds like it could be up your alley:

The program has two primary goals: (1) Increase students’ understanding of what is at stake in how we see, including the social and political ramifications of advertising, art, media, science, and popular culture, among other dominant and subversive visual forms and visualizing practices. (2) Develop new artistic, media or design forms and practices that intervene in dominant ways of seeing and explaining the world. (source)

I believe he went to Wesleyan…which could be another school to consider, which would probably fall within the “reach” category for you.
