<p>no im not exactly a kiwi alex. as above, i’m an asian immigrant (came 5 yrs ago) which is more likely to hurt me than help me get in. and stan’s deadline IS 15th:S was i being a lil confusing with dates?hehe AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, YOUR CHANCE IS STILL SAFE AND SOUND! for BOTH of you guys eve and alex! one thing i learnt from this forum is that the stats do not as matter as much as the EC’s. Most of my ec’s are really shallow and very concentrated on the last year…which looks kinda suspicious to them. Sports: only badminton and team C! I don’t understand how you guys can think I’m better than you! (not counting the numbers) Eve, you even got your IMO leader to write a ref for you! I just got my gf to write one for me hehe… </p>
<p>Also, if they want one new zealander, they are more likely to choose the ‘pure’ ones rather than an asian pretending to be a new zealander!</p>
<p>Eve, yes i did have an interview. Hm…what can i say…the only q i was asked was ‘how did you come to apply to Pton?’ which I answered quite badly…was kinda nervous plus didnt have much to say except it was a good school:s the rest was just him talking about the life at Pton. so…it was more ‘comfortable’ than expected but on the other hand, scarier bcoz i keep on thinking he was waiting for me to show him something that will make him think i’m worth it. </p>
<p>OMG Eve you are applying to pretty much the same unis as i am! stop blocking my way to the states!! lol Im applying for (i think) H, Y, M, S, Penn, Dartmouth, Williams, Swarthmore, Carnegie. I may not be able to apply to some of these schools (Penn and Swarthmore) cus i dont have the new SAT score…(which is the reason im not applying for duke although i want to apply)</p>
<p>o yea, today i realised i can ask the deputy principal who’s writing my school report to send off my refs on the very last day of school, 13th. Then because they are going through the normal mail, it will prolly take more than a week to get to the states and they will not be opening them as they arrive right? this means i will have time to get the Pton decision THEN apply! happy happy</p>
<p>i seem to be the only one here not applying to stanford…i heard their fin.aid is really dodgy, and i prolly dont have a chance anyway. </p>
<p>im applying to HYP, and maybe williams or columbia. only four…saves stamps and app fees:) Or else i’ll just stay in Melbourne. I EA’ed to Yale…but rite now i’m a lot of trouble with the princeton essays! </p>

<p>my yale interviewer was actually quite experienced. He sent me a list of questions which he was going to ask me on (which i promptly forgot about…heh). He will be interviewing you guys in RD round (he does all NZ and AUS interviews)</p>
<p>im scared of interviews! my Pton interview wasnt very good…i got waived of MIT interview tho:P so…guess only H and Y to go? i wish i’d just get into Pton so i don have to go through all the stress again!

<p>yeh I had my interview the other day with a really nice lady from dunedin. It went ok I think - she talked for most of it lol and then she paid for my lunch and she gave me some princeton magazines and stuff which was kool</p>
<p>i soooo cant find the motivation to do ANYTHING…let it be stanford essays or studying for scholarship exams or even eathing…i really dont think i can bear this agony again when RD decision time comes…so i just hope i get in!! (nt very likely though…why is my life so uncertain!)</p>
<p>does anyone else hate ‘why this school?’ essays? I DO/! for eg. Upenn and Swarthmore…they ask to write one page on that q…i mean, aren’t most people applying cuz they are good (but safer) schools?? it’s just downright cruel i’d say…honestly, all they are gonna receive is a whole pile of contrived essays based on what the school presented on its websites right?</p>
