<p>I like the idea of a bassinet. I bought one for S1 (it took us 9 years to have him), and we have lent it to various friends and relatives for their newborns. Each baby’s name and birth date is written underneath. There are over a dozen now - S1 is 16. I always get it back, and I hope that S1 and S2 will use it for their children.</p>
<p>I have also given as baby gifts baskets of favorite children’s books, spanning a range of ages. There was a thread not so long ago with book suggestions. You could search on the following titles that I remember contributing to that thread:</p>
