<p>Columbine wasn’t a tragedy; it was an attrocity committed by two maniacs. What does it have to do with this?</p>
<p>I guess we shouldn’t build a memorial in downtown New York because we are still trying to move ahead there, too? If someone proposed a memorial to all the military dead who have fallen while responding to 9/11, would that be attacked, too?</p>
<p>Just remember that the kind of dolt who opposes this memorial is the same kind of dolt who is trying to turn the WTC memorial into a referendum on everything that has ever been wrong about the United States, rather than a memorial of what happened one terrible September morning.</p>
